The Barley Mow
It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce that The Barley Mow has been registered as a Community Asset for another 5 years.
Whilst is doesn't completely prevent a change of use of either the building or land by the owner, it does mean that there are additional hurdles for them to navigate.
More information on Community Assets can be found on the Cherwell District Council Website

Thames Valley Police - Drone Training Exercise

Thames Valley Police are undertaking a training exercise using drones on the afternoon of the 16th April 2026. they will primarily using the canal and Reading Room in Upper Heyford for their search scenario. They plan to take off from the Village Hall car park and only look at the Reading Room and nearby echelons and then down towards the lock and the canal. Fortunately Heyford provides us with a good number of features that test the pilots’ flying ability.
The Trainer will be with all pilots at all times, monitoring what they are looking at and at no time will they be focussing on any individuals, vehicles or houses that are not TVP personnel who have been placed for the purpose of the scenario.
