Council frustration & Take-Away Tuesday
Parish Council Update Frustration! It has been a frustrating few weeks for the Parish Council: Traffic Calming having agreed to village gates, speed humps and road narrowing at the 3 entrances to the village, Oxfordshire County Council have been extremely slow at moving things forward. Thank You To Our Volunteers! Our Community relies on volunteers to make it what it is - from those who run annual events such as the Flower Show and the Fireworks, monthly Afternoon Teas, Family Fun Days and Halloween Celebrations. Fund raising activities including Bingo and the Christmas Fayre. High Street Disruption
High Street Disruption As you may be aware, there is currently an issue with the water flow for the taps on High Street and by the cemetery. These are fed by a local spring and the tank has been filling up with silt and sand. The Parish Council have organised for this to be cleared on the 23rd June and the contractors will be on site near The Spit on High Street between approx 10.30am & 3.30pm. Camp Road Proposed Closure
Camp Road Proposed Closure 6 Months Road Closure Many of you have seen the signs on Camp Road indicating a 6 month road closure from the 1st July. This is to connect sewage from the new Heyford Springs development to the sewage works alongside Manor Farm in our parish. The closure points would be staggered as the works take place. What a fantastic day we had on Sunday 3rd May at the May Day Fun Day, although the sun didn’t shine on us all day, the rain held off and it was warm enough to relax and enjoy.
