Parish Council Update

Parish Council Meeting
The last Parish Council meeting took place on the 12th February 2026 with a very interesting present from NORA (North Oxfordshire Residents Action) as well as an update on Council affairs.
The next meeting is at 7.15pm on the 5th March in the Reading Room.
NORA
NORA (North Oxfordshire Residents Action) is a diverse team of conscientious residents from North Oxfordshire who are concerned about the pace and nature of development in our local area. Their mission is to ensure local residents know about and participate in decisions about planned development where they live and work and to engage in meaningful dialogue about meeting local need. Upper Heyford Parish Council are one of the 23 local Parish Councils who have joined NORA.

The NORA petition calls for a fix to a flawed planning process: decisions are being made in silos, without a proper assessment of combined (cumulative) impacts of multiple developments—an issue that could affect regions across the UK, including those targeted for new towns.
We need 1,500+ signatures to trigger a formal hearing.
Volunteers

The Parish Council are looking for volunteers:
Speedwatch we have a speed gun and are not afraid to use it! Who wants to join in? The more people involved, the greater the presence we have.
Road Fault Reporting you will be trained to be 'super user' and will monitor any faults with our roads, mark them out and work directly with Oxfordshire County Council to get them repaired - does this sound right up your street?
Litter Picking we have a number of litter picker grab and reach devices and are willing to lend them out to anyone who would like to help keep our beautiful village clean.
If any of these volunteering opportunities are of interest then please do contact me.
